Secrets to younger looking skin...

In maintaing a positive image it is vital that we look after our skin. We cannot stop the aging process but we can take on board some ways on how to prevent premature aging.

STYLEDGE Image Consulting has some great tips to younger looking skin.
1 Always, always wear sunscreen to prevent the skin from aging. The sun is largely responsible for wrinkles, liver spots, pigmentation and uneven skin tone. Sunglasses provide protection and helps to reduce crows feet... well there is botox!

2 Don't smoke! Studies have shown that smoking damages the elastin and collagen fibres found in the skin, making it less firm and resilient. Smoking inhibits your circulation, thus depriving your skin cells of oxygen.

3 To kep your skin healthy do use a daily skin care regime. It takes a few minutes, morning and evening and your skin will thank you for it.

4 SMILE!!! Your face tends to adapt to the expressions you carry most of the time. If you often frowl or scowl, your skin is more likely to to develop lines or wrinkles in those areas. A relaxed and happy face will keep you looking younger.

5 Sleeping on your face can cause wrinkles.. sleeping in the same position most of the night for years can permanetly crease your skin. So if you find it hard to sleep on your back like myself, invest in a satin pillow. Your face will thank you for it.

Wardrobe Malfunctions

We wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time!! Which means we have lots of clothes hanging in our closet and wasting space. I would rather have a wardrobe with less clothes that I absolutely loved than a whole lot of clothes that will just "make do"
Why we encounter wardrobe malfunctions???
1 Clothes we used to wear have become outdated.
2 Body shapes do change and we need to make necessary adjustments and work with what we've got.
3 Embrace colour but beware, our colours do change as we age. We become cooler and greyer. So avoid super bright tones unless you feel you can still get away with it.
4 Dump the frump and dress age appropriately, I see more womem looking older than they are due poor choices. Learn to modify the trends that suit where you are at today.
5 Express yourself, your clothes convey messages, what do your clothes say abou you?

Not sure how to pull it all together, you are not alone. Styledge Image Consulting can hep you project your most confident and authentic self.
Why look good when you can look GREAT!!

Dress For Success: Creating a Professional Image by Lillian D. Bjorseth: The Sideroad

Dress For Success: Creating a Professional Image by Lillian D. Bjorseth: The Sideroad: "Dress For Success: Creating a Professional Image
The success of any personal encounter begins the second someone lays eyes on you ... often long before either of you speaks. A professional image - appearance and behavior - helps start the experience in the right vein since people decide 10 things about you within 10 seconds of seeing you.
The business casual look that really took hold in the 1990s workplace has made it more difficult to look as professional and powerful as before B.C. While some laud the trend, others think it shows less respect for self and others.
Dress for the occasion.
If the occasion is business,
Then dress as if you mean business.

Women frequently suffer more negative career consequences from business casual dress than men because they have far more choices. Women often choose leggings, stirrup pants, mini skirts and skorts. For men, casual typically means pants and a shirt or sweater. Their biggest fault may be to choose jeans or sweat pants or muscle T-shirts.
Learning the art of impression management - planning how you look and how you act to get a certain reaction - is sure to impact your career or business more favorably!
You tell others how to treat you. Your business associates and coworkers mirror whether you want to be treated as Number One or Number Ten in your area of expertise and how much respect you want."

Christmas Office Parties Do’s and Don’ts.

With most of you attending the annual Christmas party and no doubt indulging in some Christmas cheer you still need to act in a appropriate and professional manner.
Here is a list of do’s and don’ts to help you maintain your credibility in the festive season.

1 Do act as if your conduct is being observed, because it probably is.

2 Don’t pull out the nightclub attire, and do check if the dress code is formal, cocktail or smart casual.

3 Do keep all conversations above board, don’t gossip, whinge or complain to colleagues. Do avoid controversial topics such as religion, sex and politics.

4 Do take the time to network and introduce yourself to colleagues you are not too familiar with. A holiday party is a great way to build and strengthen business relationships. Don’t forget to thank the host for planning and coordinating the party.

5 Don’t drink too excessively just because there is an open bar and do keep your drink in your left hand so you are not offering wet and sloppy handshakes all evening.

6 Do have fun with the colours this season and don’t wear too much black!!
