Find your party style this festive season.

So you love to party but are not quite sure what to wear? You are not alone; so many women face that challenge daily but what about when it comes to choos-ing that special dress for the annual office party or social function?
I have five styles to help you choose the right party outfit for every occasion.
 The LBD. You cannot go past The Little Black Dress; you may tire of it but Audrey never got it wrong. Black is slimming and sheik and is often our first choice because its been tried and tested. Black is especially great for night . Try to avoid it for day and opt for something lighter instead.
 The Maxi dress. Love or hate it, it’s here to stay. It hides a multitude of sins. It can be worn with heels or flats depending on where your function is. From Jacqui E to Charlie Brown you can rest assure you can look very glam in your maxi without feeling too casual.
 The Cocktail Dress. This is the perfect party dress for all fes-tive occasions. It sits on the knee which is the most flattering length for every woman. Also, I have found the raised waist cut is great for apples, rectangles and even pear shapes.
 The Jumpsuit. “Hmmm... how unusual” I hear you say, but an off-the-shoulder or strapless jumpsuit will get you noticed without a doubt. Sassy and sexy, I dare you to give it a try this season.
 The Mini dress. I think a mini dress is a great choice for the young or the young at heart, especially if your legs are lean and in good shape. Be age-appropriate when it comes to your hemlines, the older we get, the longer our lengths should be. (we don’t need to dress like nuns though).
Styledge Image Consulting would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful, stylish New Year!

Find it Faster: Know your style.
Are you overwhelmed by shopping? Do you get confused or frustrated by the amount of choice, or lack of, when you visit your local shopping mall?
I have five quick and easy tips to help you buy clothes that won’t become clos-et orphans. Are you ready?
 First of all, know what you are looking for. What is it that you need or want? Is it for a party, wedding or for work? Once you establish what it is you’re after you only need to go to the shops that sell those particular items.
 What outfit gets you the most compliments? If it is in a particular cut or colour that is flattering to your shape and complexion, then you must have it right, right?
 Learn to know what you like and dislike. Do you like frills, busy patterns, or neutrals. Do you like separate’s or suits, dresses or pants? Once you work out what you like or dislike then you can search for those garments that you know work for you.
 Is there a particular shop, boutique or designer that fits you well. It is worth going in every season to check out what is available. At least you know these styles have been tried and tested.
 Give yourself TIME, don’t shop in a hurry with 5 minutes to spare. You will purchase something you wish you hadn’t or you will leave the shops discouraged and depressed. Do your homework, look online to see what is in the shops that you fancy and go get it!

Your Personal Style Formula

I am very excited to be launching my new eBook “Your Person-al Style Formula; discover your signature style”. Jane Liddelow (from Style Makeover HQ) and I collaborated to produce a la-bour of love that is a fantastic tool to help women unlock the secrets to their style success!
I believe the foundation to having great style is being confident about who we are and what we wear. Not only do women struggle with their identity but live with the daily challenge of having a ward-robe full of clothes and still complain they have nothing to wear. Do you get dressed or stressed? Are you uncertain about some outfits you put together?
Your Personal Style Formula will help you discover the real you that expresses who you are inside and out!

"Discover your unique personal style and express who you truly are, inside and out”
Style is often the missing piece of the appearance "puzzle", the special ingredi-ent to looking great. Also, style rules are being broken constantly by those around us and in the media, which means there is even more confusion about what to buy and what to wear!
Some would say that style is something you are born with. Fortunately, that's not true, and thank goodness for that! Style can, in fact, be learnt.
Your Personality Style is the combination of many things
 What you love to wear
 The roles you play
 The activities you are involved in
 Knowing what works and what does not
 What you are attracted to
Wear what you love and love what you wear.
By choosing styles in your Personal Style Formula, you will begin to purchase garments that reflect the real you! You’ll learn how to blend your main style categories and how, by changing one small part of an outfit (such as your accessories for example), you can completely change the resulting style. You don’t have to go out and immediately replace all of your clothes. Work within your budget to change small details of your outfits to refine your ap-pearance and express your personality with your style.
What you learn from our eBook will last you a lifetime and you will never again be lured by fashion trends and fads telling you that “it’s a must have for you to look vogue”. Just because something is in fashion does not mean it’s going to look fashionable on you. No longer will you fall into the trap of the fashion vic-tim because you can apply Your Personal Style Formula to all aspects of your life.

Remembering Princess Dianna

I still get sad when I reflect upon the horrible news of Dianna's death. She like countless others was taken before her time.I personally felt like I had lost a friend and found it hard to comprehend that our princess had died.
Today would have been Princess Diana's 50th birthday. Regarded as the people's princess, she was a role model, activist, and a style icon. From her wedding gown to her little black dresses, her style continues to inspire fashionistas today.

1. There is nothing more stylish than a knee high boot. I live in mine and I love wearing them with skirts, dresses and skinny jeans. Definitely a winter wardrobe essential.

2. A sea of black is all I see walking around town which can be quite depressing on a cold, wet and dreary day. Get yourself an overcoat in a colour other than black. My bright red coat always gives me a great pick up because colour makes me feel alive.

3. A funky necklace will shout out over neutral or dark outfits, making your look interesting and memorable. A coloured scarf will also do the trick and is a must for every winter wardrobe.

4. I love a wrap dress, so you will often see me opt for one over jeans whilst dining out with hubby and friends. They look good with my boots too!

5. Hats!! If you have not experimented this season already, please do. A cute beret or felt hat will scream I’ve got style all the way to Spring. They are not for the faint hearted or girls who hate hat hair but my outfit feels complete when adorned with the red beret that goes with my red coat and handbag.

What are you pick me up favorites winter garments?

Personality Style.....the missing link.

What is the missing link between who we are as a person and the clothes we wear on a daily basis? Why is there a disconnection between your personality and your wardrobe?
I know some pretty amazing, fun, strong and interesting women, but their clothes do not at all portray their personality.
My quest is to help you reflect who you are from the inside out. Creating compatibility between who you are and the outfits you choose to wear on a daily basis will allow the world to see YOU!

Your clothes speak…...what message are they sending?
Think about some of the items in your wardrobe. What is it about those items you love or are attracted to?
Try this quick and easy way to help you find your style formula so that when you are out shopping and everything is screaming “buy me”, you will be able to narrow your choices down by choosing garments that represent those six simple words. Then, what you end up taking home will fit in nicely with your style words….. It is then you will have success!!
Take this necklace (above)for example, my six words:
1 Statement
2 Interesting
3 Bold
4 Colourful
5 Contrast
6 Smooth
I love this necklace because it is colourful. It boldly makes a statement yet it has a smooth surface. Also this piece creates a medium contrast and with the crackle through the turquoise stone it certainly makes it very interesting and not boring!
I am always looking for items that identify who I am because it makes shopping so much easier and definitely more enjoyable.
Why don’t you go have a look in your wardrobe now and start on your own style formula. Soon enough your clothes will become more compatible with who you are.
I dare you to allow your clothes to reveal the real you!

The modern day elegant!

Anne really cant put a foot wrong these days... and I do think she resembles the modern day elegant with this look. A little more drama with those hot red pumps, she certainly is right up there with the forever beautiful Audrey Hepburn.
I think she is beautiful.......What do you think?

What not to wear to weddings.

Royal fever certainly hit me quite late in the piece but my eyes were glued to the TV on Friday night to watch the Royal Wedding.
Will and Harry looking very handsome in uniform. Kate was exquisite wearing Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. So elegant and so now and almost a modern day version of Grace Kelly’s gown. And Pippa also looked so sleek in her bridesmaid dress. I loved it all.
Most of all, I loved the fairy tale that made the world stop and the masses line the streets to get a glimpse of a princess marrying her prince, stunning!

What and what not to wear to a wedding….
Seeing we are on the topic of weddings I thought we could take a look at dress codes for special occasions such as a wedding. Nowadays I am finding there is so much confusion around what to wear at such affairs and not only that I have also discovered that guests are dressing down more than dress-ing up which I find to be very disappointing.

1 Do frock up. You cannot go passed a fun and flirty dress when it comes to a wedding be it morning, day or night. Depending on the dress code carefully choose your fabric, style and length to suit the occasion.

2 Don’t or never ever wear jeans!! Phooey you say but I have seen it. Men try and get away with jeans to weddings but they are not appropriate, not even with a jacket.

3 Do wear a hat or a head piece/ fascina-tor. Now I love hats and if the hat fits, wear it. Nothing makes a statement like a hat. Give one a go but make sure you own it, if in doubt don’t.

4 Do wear colour. Black can often be our default colour when it comes to weddings or special occa-sions. Black does have it’s place but don’t be afraid to wear colour, it is so refreshing.

5 Don’t wear white, period.

6 Do wear a full length dress if dress code reads formal or black tie. Don’t be afraid to go all the way.

A wedding is a special occasion and a time to celebrate so you may as well look the part!

Love the skin you're in!

I have always adhered to “being skinny” does not equate to health or happi-ness. I am a firm believer in loving the skin I’m in. It has taken a long time to arrive at this revelation but as I approach fifty, I must say it is a good feeling to be content and comfortable with my age, size and shape. Person-ally I’ve had to revaluate my look based on my reality. Gone are the super tight jeans and cute fitted tops (a look I lived in) I’ve opted for the slim line pant with heels or flats combined with a soft flowing tunic that flows over my curves. It was a necessary transition that I was happy to make.
So can we be stylish at any age, size or shape? Sure can!! Come with me…...
Style at any age, size or shape….
Studies now show that the average size of an Austral-ian female is a size 16. It’s been recorded that over 50% of women in the USA are a plus size. Unfortu-nately the plus size designers do not consider shape or silhouette and create hideous garments that would look better on slimmer woman.
Thank goodness for women like Queen Latifa, Oprah, Nikki Blonsky and Amber Riley who lead the way in dressing for their shape and size.
Know your body intimately.
Like any other job you attempt to you first need to know what you have to work with. The best way to know your body is to have it objectively analysed. This will reveal to you exactly how you are built. Learning about your hori-zontal and vertical shape also your face shape and physical scale. We rarely see the “good bits” but your body is better than you think it is and that there are styling strategies you can use to look and feel great everyday without spending hundreds of dollars.
Work the rules.
The next step is to discover the design elements that will most flatter your body. Learn how to recognise them on the rack and how to employ them when you are coordinating your outfits.
Support your shape.
Wearing the suitable undergarments is essential for any woman especially if you are full figured or not very firm. Undergarments can make a huge difference be-tween a lumpy silhouette and a smooth, firm, sleek one.
About 70% of women wear the wrong size bra, make sure you get fitted yearly. An ill fitting bra will leave your breasts (it has to be said) hanging in an unflatter-ing position which, not only is very unattractive but also make you appear bigger than you are. You can buy the right shape wear for you from all major depart-ment stores. All the celebs wear spanks and they are not afraid to admit it!
It all comes down to embracing your shape and loving the skin you’re in.
